Orthodontic Policy:
The Makah Tribal Council has approved funding for referred orthodontic services. The funding provides orthodontic treatment for up to 10 youth (under 21 years old) and 1 adult per year.
• Only Makah Tribal members living on the Makah Reservation are eligible
• Parents of children seeking orthodontic services who also have access to private dental insurance must enroll their child on their dental insurance plan
• All patients interested in orthodontic services must: o Undergo a comprehensive exam at STIHC dental
o Complete all primary dental care needs (fillings, crowns, etc.)
o Plan to remain in Clallam County for at least 2 years
• Patients will be approved for orthodontic services based on need. Patients with the most severe problems with bad bite and tooth crowding will receive priority.
