Hi•dasubač Programs

About US

The Hi·dasubač Initiative Prevention Team focuses on overall prevention efforts and building resiliency, focusing on youth and families.  As people, we live in both a modern and traditional world. We use a blended implementation style to satisfy the two worlds that we walk in. In our delivery, we focus on our internal strengths, which are specific to our location and teachings that have been passed down for generations. These teachings have allowed us to survive and thrive in our territories since the beginning of time.

We are one department made up of the following programs: Youth Center, Methamphetamine and Suicide Prevention Initiative, Native Connections, and Washington State Prevention Funds.

What does hi•dasubač mean?

Hi•dasubač is a Makah lifestyle. In order to achieve our goals, we must balance the four aspects of life; our mental health, spiritual health, physical health and emotional health. When we neglect any one of these aspects, it is believed that one becomes lopsided.

Mission

Our mission is to promote balanced wellness within our youth and families through cultural lifeskills.
