Common concerns

Medication Assisted Treatment is just replacing one drug with another
In our MAT program we use medicine to help clients overcome their drug addiction. The medications we prescribe, whether it's Suboxone or Vivotrol, are FDA approved and are safely administered by our staff. We determine proper doses for each person so each individual can receive the amount of help they need. The goal of the medication is to simply help patients to live drug-free lives.

I don’t want people to know that I need help
Like every other medical care facility, we are under strict laws and will not disclose any information about our patients. However, you will likely feel empowered as you progress down the road to recovery and will almost certainly want to tell others about your success. Additionally, telling people about your desire to recover can bring you their support. Recovery isn’t easy, but the people you frequently talk with can offer help and support.

Working towards recovery and the MAT program takes up too much time
Participation is geared towards lifestyle changes and can help you make your days better, but it does not take up every minute of every day. It requires more time at the beginning but this goes down as you continue on. We hope to help you return to strong health and thriving well in our community.

I’m nervous about starting the program
You are looking to change your life! Being nervous is normal. You won’t be left alone. You have our support and the support of community members.

I've tried getting clean before, I'll probably just relapse again
It's possible to relapse again. But you also have more experience under your belt and know a little more about the challenges you'll face. Some treatment options work better for some people than others and there is not a 100% guarantee that you won't relapse again. Your recovery is worth a try.
